Continued Shenanigans

Since closing “Sense”, I’ve had a lot more to do than expected! In our class work we’ve been playing with Character Voices and Farce (many thanks to Jen Scapetis-Tycer and Dale Rose for putting up with my lack of natural comedy skills) and finding some excellent work in Movement on the Trateau (take five actors and give them a small platform of space. Create a 15 minute piece. Do not step off, do not collect $200, do not pass “Go”). Our group is working on “Blade Runner” and it’s been a lot more fun than I expected.

I’m also happy to announce that I’ll be returning to the Monomoy Theatre in Cape Cod, MA this summer for their season! The show dates are as follows:

June 21 – July 2
THE DROWSY CHAPERONE
Music and Lyrics by Lisa Lambert & Greg Morrison
Book by Bob Martin & Don McKellar

July 5 – 9
ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS

July 12 – 16
ARMS AND THE MAN
by George Bernard Shaw

July 19 – 23
OF MICE AND MEN
by John Steinbeck

July 28 – 30 &  August 1 – 6
THE FANTASTICKS
Music by Harvey Schmidt
Book &  Lyrics by Tom Jones

August 9 – 13
THE TEMPEST
by William Shakespeare

August 16 – 20
BROADWAY BOUND
by Neil Simon

August 23 – 27
JOHNNY ON A SPOT
by Charles MacArthur

We arrive on June 5th and don’t stop until August 28th. My roles are: “Drowsy” – The Superintendent, “Guvnors” – Dolly, “Arms” – Louka, “Tempest” – Caliban, “Broadway” – Blanche, “Johnny” – Pearl LaMorte. I can’t wait to start!

Today, I’m just catching up on written work and also prepping for our first audition for the Connecticut Repertory Theatre 2016-2017 season for “King Lear”. Next Sunday, we have initial auditions so some characters can get a head start on their work over the summer. Here’s hoping!

I’ll pretend I’m going to update soon, but I’ll probably forget. Til next time!
